Vice Chancellor
Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Shrivastava is an eminent orthopaedic surgeon, visionary academic leader, researcher, innovator, and institution builder with over three decades of distinguished service across healthcare, higher education, and academic governance.
His academic journey reflects rare breadth and depth: MBBS and MS (Orthopaedics) from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior, DNB in Orthopaedic Surgery, ACME certification; Ph.D. in Medical Education: Post-Graduate Management qualification from IMT Ghaziabad; and an honorary Ph.D. in Academic Management. These credentials underpin a uniquely multidisciplinary career spanning clinical excellence, education, and leadership.
He assumes Charge as Vice-Chancellor of KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research, nurtured by the historic KLE Society, whose legacy of nation-building through education spans more than a century.

Prof. Shrivastava held multiple post previously like senior leadership roles at Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (DMIHER), including Officiating Vice-Chancellor and Executive Director (Global), Directorate of International Affairs: Professor & Director (Orthopaedics) at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Chief Scientific Officer, and Honorary Director of the Centre for Regenerative Medicine. He also served as Dean of the Medical College and CEO of the Meghe Group of Hospitals-demonstrating exceptional capability in academic administration, healthcare management, and institutional transformation.
An accomplished clinician, he is widely respected for expertise in complex trauma, joint replacement, limb reconstruction, and regenerative orthopaedics. His practice integrates cutting-edge science with compassionate care, restoring mobility, dignity, and quality of life to patients with challenging musculoskeletal conditions.
Internationally recognized for innovation, he pioneered STARS and SPIN Therapies for wound healing and complex tissue repair-regenerative approaches offering new hope for chronic, non-healing, and infection-prone wounds.
Equally distinguished as a medical educator, Prot. Shrivastava is deeply passionate about transforming how doctors are trained. A dedicated faculty member for decades, he has been instrumental in advancing competency-based medical education, faculty empowerment, and learner-centric teaching. He has served as Chairman and continues as Faculty of Nodal Centre for Faculty Development under the National Medical Commission, where he led large-scale capacity-building initiatives for medical teachers across institutions. Through workshops, curriculum reforms, and mentorship programs, he has contributed significantly to strengthening the quality, professionalism, and ethical foundations of medical education in India.
A prolific scholar, Prof. Shivastava has authored over 130+ scientific publications, secured multiple copyrights, and holds patents. His books-ranging from an illustrated Atias on PRP and Prompt Engineering for Clinicians to academic leadership frameworks advance quality, leamer-centric education. He is also an acclaimed fiction and self-help author, inspiring readers globally through works such as The Last Chapter, The First Page and SORTED-Rising Softty is Still Rising.
Globally engaged, he has delivered more than 200 keynote lectures and invited talks across 25+ countries, including prestigious orations such as the Dr. O P. Sharma Oration, RD Rallan Gold Medal. His contributions have earned numerous national and international honours, including gold medals at major conferences, the State Apang Mitra Award from Maharashtra, and Lifetime Achievement Awards in Research and Healthcare.
Beyond clinical and academic excellence, he is deeply committed to human development in professional education. Through transformative workshops, he mentors students, faculty, Staff and healthcare professionals to cultivate resilience, ethical leadership, purpose-driven performance, and holistic success.
